The way to today’s martial arts bow is that at first left hand and then right hand,
but the samurai of the Edo period bowed with both hands at the same time.

I was often asked why put the left hand and right hand in turn.

But today I was asked “Why put your hands together?”
I do not know.
I never thought about it.
